Wine Wednesdays with Adam: Great Wines Under $10

Welcome to the latest installment of Wine Wednesdays with Adam! Each week we'll explore some of my favorite wines and what makes them stand out from the crowd. This week we're looking at delicious wines that all come in at under $10.

Good wine does not have to break the bank -- you just have to know how to spot it or find yourself a trustworthy wine guy or gal who knows their stuff! You can find great values by looking for wines from lesser-known regions and varietals, embracing blends, and staying away from larger well-known brands. There are good wines out there for everyone at all prices; you just need to explore.

Here are some of my favorites:

Casa Santo Lima The Red Blend

 Medium Red Wine

This juicy, easy-drinking red is perfect for pairing with burgers, ribs, and sausages from the grill--or even just for solo sipping. A stellar value.

$9.99

Olivares Tinto Red Blend

 Medium Red Wine

With dark berry and cherry notes, this delightful red blend is fresh with touches of pepper and good acidity. It’s ideal for accompanying a wide variety of dishes, from flavorful, rich fish to pasta, red meat, and aged cheeses like Beemster Aged Gouda or Paradiso.

$9.99

CHÂTEAU D'OUPIA LES HÉRÉTIQUES PAYS D'HÉRAULT

 Medium Red Wine I Organic

This Carignan comes from 40-year-old French vines. It has mineral depth, but a lighter, fruitier characteristic with aromas of raspberries and blueberries. A definite food wine at a great price -- enjoy with a nice burger and fries.

$9.99

Feudi del Duca Montepulciano

 Medium Red Wine

With intense flavors of cherry and raspberry, this medium-bodied red has lush texture, soft tannins, and a great finish. Great for BBQ season!

$9.99

Domaine De Pajot Gascogne Blanc

 Light White Wine

This light, refreshing, and dry white pairs well with poultry, shellfish, and light salads. It has very bright flavors of citrus and melon up front, finishing with a nice crisp acidity--a great option for the pinot grigio or sauvignon blanc drinker.

$9.99

Casalini Pinot Grigio

 Light White Wine

This is a dry pinot grigio that will pair well with shellfish, grilled octopus, sushi, or chicken fajitas. It smells like fresh fruit and flowers and has flavors of ripe golden apple and tropical fruits.

$8.99
