Position: Line Cook

We're seeking an experienced line cook to assist our kitchen team. Breakfast/Lunch experience a plus. We are a small team that works together to prepare food for our customers in a variety of ways. We keep a grab & go case filled with snacks, salads, and meals, prepare made-to-order items off of our monthly menu for walk up, call-in, and online orders, and fulfill catering orders as they are added to our calendar. 

Duties and Responsibilities (includes the following but not limited to):

  • Ability to carry out recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards as set by company
  • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the staff, according to company standards in a timely & efficient manner
  • Assist with food preparation (includes chopping, dicing, slicing, baking/pastry, etc.)
  • Help manage stock and inventory of kitchen goods
  • Able to use kitchen equipment such as grill, slicer, stove, fryer, ovens, etc.
  • Assist with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of the kitchen and equipment
  • Establish and maintain a positive work environment
  • Additional duties and projects as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • At least one year of professional kitchen experience; experience with breakfast and lunch service a plus 
  • Ability to work with others in a team setting and be flexible to the changing needs of the kitchen
  • Must have a passion and appreciation for cooking and quality food
  • Ability to work quickly, efficiently, and independently
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure

Market Retail Manager

The Market at White Horse Wine and Spirits is looking for an experienced, friendly, and motivated Manager to lead the market and assist with the growth of the store overall. This person will lead a dynamic team, ensuring excellent service and welcoming hospitality to guests as well as ensuring smooth and efficient business operations. 

The Market Manager is responsible for all retail market operations, maintaining customer service and overseeing the operation of the Market to ensure maximum sales and profitability through merchandise, inventory, and expense control, staff training and management, and management of operating costs and shrinkage.

Responsibilities:

Hospitality & Service:

  • Foster a welcoming atmosphere and provide exceptional service to guests and team members
  • Manage all customer communications related to the market and kitchen

Team Leadership & Management:

  • Hire, train, coach, and supervise staff, promoting a growth mindset
  • Set performance goals, conduct constructive reviews, and handle disciplinary actions per company policy
  • Communicate company goals, policies, and safety practices to the team
  • Deliver effective training for new initiatives
  • Cultivate a positive and engaging workplace culture

Operational Management:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the market
  • Ensure timely fulfillment of in-store and online orders
  • Maintain cleanliness and appearance of the market to company standards
  • Ensure compliance with all regulations regarding product safety and freshness
  • Identify and implement operational improvements
  • Communicate regularly with kitchen management team 
  • Schedule and oversee proper equipment operation and maintenance

Buying, Inventory, and Merchandising:

  • Manage purchasing and inventory of all food products and supplies, ensuring best pricing and accurate invoice processing
  • Stay updated on industry trends, customer feedback, and competitive offerings to inform product selection and merchandising strategies.
  • Develop cheese portfolio and conduct staff training on cheese and food education
  • Stay informed on industry trends to enhance product selection and merchandising
  • Ensure product displays are properly merchandised, labeled, and rotated based on sales & newness
  • Assist with store events
  • Conduct regular inventory counts and implement best practices
  • Communicate with marketing team to promote products and craft store displays 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in retail, café, or restaurant management required
  • Reliable, energetic, and committed to market success
  • A passion for food and a commitment to quality
  • Strong management and communication skills with a team-oriented approach
  • Demonstrated leadership, decision-making, and organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and capable of learning company software (e.g., Spirits POS, Shopify)
  • Ability to work independently, multitask, and thrive under pressure
  • Must be physically present in-store and able to perform manual tasks
  • Ability to work varied hours/days as dictated by the business needs

This is a salary position aimed at 40 hours per week. Salary starting at $45,000

Warehouse & Stock Associate 

White Horse Wine and Spirits is a family-owned company that focuses on knowledge, passion, and service. Job Title: Warehouse & Stock Associate

This position is for a stock associate/team member who will perform stock associate job duties and provide assistance to warehouse team leads, with potential to grow within the company. 

Strong communication skills and teamwork are essential. Must have a flexible schedule and be available to work weekends and night shifts. 

Duties and Responsibilities (includes the following but not limited to):

  • Check in and unload trucks as needed
  • Put away inventory in a timely manner
  • Ensure sales floor is properly stocked according to company standards; stock shelves in a timely and efficient manner
  • Oversee hourly stock personnel and ensure that tasks are completed properly and efficiently in a timely manner 
  • Provide customer service when on sales floor as needed 
  • Keep all receiving, shipping, stock, and supply areas clean and organized
  • Ensure all opening and closing warehouse procedures are completed properly
  • Contribute to team effort and establish working relationship with others 
  • Assist warehouse team leads as needed 
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of warehouse by following company standards
  • Follow established procedures and policies as outlined by management 
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Energetic and self-motivated
  • Organized
  • Maintain a neat and clean appearance 
  • Warehouse experience preferred, but not required
  • Able to or a willingness to learn how to operate warehouse equipment (forklift, WAV, pallet jack, etc.)  Forklift certification preferred.
  • Maintain high level of productivity working both independently and with a team
  • Able to multitask and manage time efficiently 
  • Be flexible and do what is needed to accomplish the goals of the company. Know that sometimes priorities will change within a given day or week.
  • Able to follow company policies and safety procedures
  • Possess effective and positive communication skills

Compensation based on experience. Full time position.
