Cook - Lola's Cafe

Love cooking fresh, flavorful food and bringing creative ideas to the table? Join us at Lola’s Cafe, where we serve breakfast and lunch Wednesday–Sunday, 8am–3pm and host the occasional nighttime event.

We’re looking for a talented, creative cook who loves great food and understands our style. This is a hands-on role: you’ll be jumping in on the Lola’s line (eggs, sauté, fryer, oven) as needed, helping with specials, catering, and cooking for occasional nighttime events and private dinners. We’d love to find someone who is eager to bring fresh ideas while staying true to our menu and vibe.

We have a unique shared kitchen that prepares food for both The Market at White Horse Wine and Spirits and Lola’s Cafe. We work as a team to make sure both businesses are running smoothly. No two days look exactly the same, some days are all about a fast-paced café service, others are prep-heavy or focused on catering, and we need someone excited to jump in wherever needed and able to work with the team.

What You’ll Do

  • Cook for Lola’s Cafe and keep service smooth 

  • Create and prepare seasonal specials that fit Lola’s style

  • Assist with catering and event menus, from prep to plating

  • Support nighttime events and private dinners

  • Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and efficient

Position: Dishwasher/Custodial

We are seeking a reliable Dishwasher to join our team. This position involves performing dishwashing duties and assisting with part-time custodial tasks, including cleaning and stocking bathrooms, mopping floors, and maintaining a clean and safe environment in our facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a commitment to cleanliness, and the ability to work efficiently in a team environment. Must be able to work early mornings and weekends.

Dishwashing Duties:

  • Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and cooking equipment

  • Operate dishwashing machine and maintain cleanliness of the equipment

  • Sort and organize clean dishes for storage and use

  • Ensure all dishes and kitchenware are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized, following health and safety regulations.

  • Empty trash bins regularly and ensure waste is disposed of in the proper manner.

  • Assist kitchen staff with other tasks as needed

Part Time Custodial Duties:

  • Clean and stock bathrooms with necessary supplies (e.g., toilet paper, soap, paper towels). Empty trash cans and replace liners.

  • Mop and maintain clean floors in dining areas and restrooms

  • Ensure all cleaning equipment is well-maintained and in good working order

General Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment in all assigned areas

  • Follow all safety procedures and health regulations related to cleaning and dishwashing

  • Assist in other custodial duties as required by the supervisor or manager

  • Report any maintenance or repair issues in the facility to the appropriate personnel

  • Adhere to company policies and procedures at all times.

Position: Kitchen Expediter

Lola’s Cafe & Kitchen is seeking an Expediter/Food Prep Team Member to join our kitchen team. This person would be a crucial part of the service team, ensuring orders are fulfilled efficiently and presented to customers in top condition, contributing to a positive dining experience. This person would also assist with food preparation and kitchen tasks when not on expediting duties. Full time available. Must be able to work weekends.

Responsibilities, including but not limited to:

  • Transport food orders from the kitchen to the dining area in a timely and accurate manner. Ensure that food is delivered in the correct order, properly plated, and at the right temperature.
  • Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure all orders are completed and ready for delivery to customers.
  • Double-check the orders for accuracy, ensuring all items are included and any special requests or dietary requirements are met.
  • Communicate effectively with both the kitchen and front-of-house team to ensure smooth service. Report any issues with orders (missing items, incorrect orders) to the kitchen or management.
  • Ensure that the quality of food is consistent with company standards. Alert kitchen staff or management if food appears undercooked, overcooked, or not up to standard.
  • Wash, peel, chop, and portion vegetables, fruits, and other ingredients according to the recipe specifications. Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards as set by company 
  • Assist with food preparation and follow the assigned prep list (includes chopping, dicing, slicing, baking/pastry, etc.)
  • Prepare salads, sandwiches, and specials to order according to company standards in a timely & efficient manner
  • Ensure that all ingredients and kitchen supplies are stocked and organized in the prep areas. Label and date food products for storage, ensuring that items are correctly stored for later use.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and workspace 
  • Assist with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of the kitchen, coolers and all storage areas
  • Additional duties and projects as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • At least one year of professional kitchen experience 
  • Ability to work with others in a team setting and adapt to the changing needs of the kitchen. 
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure that orders are accurate and that food is presented in the best possible way
  • Ability to communicate clearly with kitchen and front-of-house staff
  • Able to move quickly and handle multiple tasks at once in a fast-paced environment.
  • Friendly, approachable, and able to interact with both guests and staff in a professional manner
  • Comfortable using kitchen equipment such as grill, slicer, stove, ovens, etc. 
  • Must have a passion and appreciation for quality food
  • Ability to work quickly, efficiently, and independently

Position: Kitchen Team Member/Prep Cook/Sandwich Line


The Market kitchen is a unique kitchen environment. We are a small team that works together to prepare food for our customers in a variety of ways. We keep a grab & go case filled with snacks, salads, and meals, prepare made-to-order items off of our monthly menu for walk up, call-in, and online orders, and fulfill catering orders as they are added to our calendar. Every day the balance is a little different, and therefore the needs of our kitchen are always evolving. This person will assist with the daily food prep needs of the kitchen based on direction from the leadership team. Market Counter Associate

Position: Market Counter Associate

The Market Counter Associate is responsible for providing excellent customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of the Market counter. 

Duties and Responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • Greeting customers warmly and assisting them with their needs at the Market counter
  • Answering phone calls and taking orders in a courteous and professional manner
  • Cutting cheeses, serving prepared foods, and ensuring presentation and portioning meet company standards
  • Assisting customers with questions and handling minor issues or concerns that may arise
  • Stocking and rotating retail products to maintain a fresh and organized display
  • Packaging foods for retail, including prepared foods, nuts, bulk items, etc.
  • Preparing food items such as smoothies, acai bowls, and other menu offerings
  • Communicating effectively with kitchen staff regarding orders, customer requests, and dietary preferences
  • Completing opening and closing duties in line with company procedures

  • At least one year of experience and/or training in the food & beverage industry and/or retail/customer service is preferred, but not required – we will train the right person
