Liz's Top Picks for Mother's Day

Written by: Allegra Oehmsen

Koala Eco Hand Wash: These soaps combine nature’s most aromatic ingredients in one powerful, non-toxic formula. This biodegradable and eco-friendly plant-based formula effortlessly and safely cleanses hands without the need for toxic chemicals. The dish soap is lovely too!

Sweet Enough: Alison Roman's newest cookbook lives up to the hype with desserts for people who don't love sweets. Filled with flexible recipes where perfection isn't the goal, this book celebrates the joy of making and enjoying something sweet. And if you don't already have Roman's other two books, go ahead and get the entire trilogy -- makes a perfect gift for Mom!

Homart Matches: These matches are everything and make lighting a candle a whole experience. We love the "Intervals of Seventh" variety because the tips are rainbow colored! How fun is that?

The Art of Gathering by Priya Parker: To know Liz is to hear her talk about this book. It is an eye-opening and life-changing look at how and why people gather and how we can make gatherings more meaningful. We can't recommend it enough!

Moleskine: Tried and true, Moleskine notebooks are musts for brain dumps and to keep all of your thoughts in one place. Perfect for busy moms to keep track of all of the things! Encourage her daily journaling practice with a stylish and classic notebook.

Wine (duh!): Still not sure what to get the Moms in your life? A bottle of wine is always a good call. Liz has been loving this light red from France and this white blend from Spain, see all of her picks here >>

Ideas for How to Spend the Day
-Do a photo shoot with Mom. Get dressed up and take some "proof of mom" pics because most likely she's the one who's always capturing the memories.

-Bring her breakfast in bed

-Make a picnic in the park or on the beach. Pack the wine, cheese, and snacks and enjoy the Spring weather!

-Go for a walk in nature, either at the beach or in the woods

-Spa day complete with facials and manicures

-Go to a winery or brewery

-Write her a letter and tell her everything you love about her

-Cook her dinner (and clean up!)

It’s important to treat your Moms and mom figures with all the love in the world everyday, but Mother's Day is about amping up the love and showing her how much you appreciate everything she does. Don't show up empty handed!
