Louis Antoine Luyt Pipeno Coronel de Maule Pais
Bottle Size: 1 L
Region: Chile
Medium Red Wines
Pipeño wines are honest, humble, small scale, traditionally made Chilean wines of the most recent harvest. They are unique to the regions of the Maule, Itata and Bio-Bío Valleys, which are some of Chile's most traditional and rural wine regions, and also the regions that are most commonly dry farmed. Colonel de Maule is one of the more structured, masculine and grippy Pipeño wines, coming from a warmer site in the Maule Valley. It is full of dark-fruited, spicy personality, without sacrificing delicious fruit and drinkability with a wildly smokey finish. If we needed yet another reason to love what native Frenchman Louis-Antoine Luyt is doing in Chile, his Pipeño bottlings celebrating local producers would certainly be one.
Native Burgundians-gone-South American. Similar to Beaujolais in style. Light and elegant with pleasant punchy red fruit and a touch of floral component.
*Natural and Organic
Staff Review: For those seeking something out of the box and interesting, grab this natural pais. Geek over the open-top vat wild fermentation and no filtration, or simply enjoy this unique Chilean red for its taste and aroma. Grippy dark red fruit and a bit of smoke. A true extraordinary value for the quality. A liter in size, bring to your next party with a cheese box put together in The Market.
