Fontina Red Wax
A versatile cooking cheese from Denmark, its mild creaminess and gently pungent aroma will enhance a potato dish or a hot sandwich. Its sweet nuttiness makes Fontina a fine table cheese to serve with fresh fruit as a dessert course. It is a little sweeter than the Italian fontina and it tastes a bit like Gouda. Danish Fontina is made from cow's milk. The cheese is creamy yet semi-firm and pliable. The rind is coated in red wax, which is not edible.
