Serralunga d'Alba, in the heart of Barolo, is characterized by its ancient Helvetian sandstone soils, which are rich in limestone and clay. This soil composition gives wines from Serralunga their signature structure, minerality, and aging potential. The climate here, with warm days and cool nights, allows Nebbiolo grapes to develop complex aromas and maintain acidity, resulting in wines with both power and finesse.
Aromas of roses, violets, blue fruit and some earthy tile notes. The palate is medium- to full-bodied with refined tannins and a very warm, cozy, enveloping core of pretty fruit that’s persistent. Best ever from here. A joy to taste now, but better in a couple of years.
